UBB.Developers Forums Community Development Programming Web Hosting Any other sites

At the moment i have a forum ruuning on mycool.com. the support has been very poor and i am a newbie. Mycool provide the webspace and the UBB builder, is there any other place that does this at the moment its free but with adverts which at the moment i dont mind to much, i dont understand php and mysql and how to uplaod these on to a hosting site, is there any books which you can buy/download which will explain how this is done.

try netfirms.com... it doesn't support php, so you'll have to dump the accelerator, but apart from that it seems quite good...

for normal UBB you won't need mysql, so don't worry about it

sorry missed the book thing ), and a few simple php functions, so look for tutorials for that

can someone write a hack that removes smilies when they're not needed? (yes I know UBB already limits them to 8 per post, but I want something more intelligent )

there are many books around, and I have read a lot of those PHP books (but I can't programm to well,...) and they are all good. you can't buy a wrong one.

hm, about the host, I think homestead is a good one. also you can have a look @ webhosts4free.com. There you can find a lot of free hosts, but imo the site hasn't been updated for a long while!

You get what you paid for.
